URGENT Support Needed: Help 300 Girls Keep Running Despite Funding Cuts
She’s Ready to Run—But Her Team Is At Risk

She’s Ready to Run—But Her Team is At Risk
Due to an unexpected funding cut, 300 young girls (ages 8–11) who were counting on participating in Girls on the Run at twelve schools are at risk of losing access to our program. These are schools where the girls' families face financial hardship, and without outside support, their daughters will miss the opportunity to experience our life-changing program.
Right in Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, and Delray Beach, girls need your help.
Principal Mejias from one of the schools at risk of losing Girls on the Run shares the impact the program has on her school:
“Since the implementation of the program, we have seen notable changes in our participants.
Girls who once struggled with low self-esteem have emerged as leaders in their classrooms. We've seen improvements in attendance, peer relationships, and even academic engagement. Teachers have reported that students are more willing to advocate for themselves, collaborate positively with others, and approach challenges with a growth mindset.
Parents have shared heartfelt testimonials about how the program has changed their daughters' outlooks and increased their self-confidence. One mother told us that her daughter began waking up early and preparing her own backpack and shoes the night before practice-something that never happened before. Another parent shared that her daughter, once shy and reserved, delivered a confident presentation in class for the first time.
The end-of-season 5K is a beautiful culmination of the program. It serves not just as a physical challenge, but as a metaphor for the journey these girls have taken together-cheering each other on, pushing through obstacles, and celebrating each other's victories. It's a sight that moves our entire school community and reinforces the importance of continuing this work.”
The time is now to support Girls on the Run so girls can continue the work of learning, growing and thriving.
Coach Heather from another team agrees.
"One particularly memorable moment was seeing a group of girls support a teammate struggling during a practice run. Rather than leaving her behind, they rallied around her, cheered her on, and crossed the finish line together. This exemplifies the spirit of Girls on the Run—teaching girls that success isn’t just about personal achievement but about lifting others up as well.
I wholeheartedly support the continuation of this program and encourage any efforts to secure funding. It is a program that every girl should have the opportunity to experience."
Each school program costs approximately $5,000 per season—covering trained coaches, program supplies, curriculum, and scholarships for every girl in need. Without immediate support, these girls will lose a safe and encouraging space that builds their confidence, resilience, and lifelong healthy habits.
We are urgently seeking sponsors to bridge this gap. Your gift will directly:
· Provide access for girls who otherwise could not afford the program.
· Equip schools with materials and trained coaches.
· Build a generation of confident, compassionate leaders.
Won't you help ensure that every girl, regardless of financial situation, crosses the finish line with pride and strength?
